Shirley Ann Whelan

Shirley Ann Whelan, 68, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky passed away December 18, 2015 at Norton Suburban Hospital. She was born on May 24, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to the late William and Mary Johnson. She was of the Christian faith and was a foster parent for over 25 years.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Doug Johnson and Stephen Johnson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, William “Bill” Whelan; four sons, Will Branham (Melissa), Hank Branham (Kimberly), Gary Branham (Tina) and Kevin Whelan (Michelle); three step children, Diane Orme (Michael), Becky Thomas (David), Russell Whelan (Val); numerous grand and great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Johnson (Wanda) and a sister, Mary Atkins (Dave).

A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Monday and from 10-12 on Tuesday both at the funeral home.
