Lynne was born in Gainesville, FL to Joseph Allan Jordan and Julia Ellene Lawson. She was a retired insurance agent and member of Seaton Park Baptist Church where she had served as pianist. Being self-taught, Lynne had a passion for music and she served most of her life as a choral accompanist for children’s and adult choirs as well as playing for congregational worship.
Lynne had a love for life and people which stemmed from her love for God. She never met a stranger and she loved cheering on the Florida Gators.
Lynne is preceded in death by her father Joseph A. Jordan, brother Joseph Henry Jordan, and a great-niece Callie Ryan Jordan.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband William T. Buchanan; children Lauren M. Parker (La’Ronn), Jordan D. Miller (Samantha), William T. Buchanan Jr. (Julia), Jessica C. Hedden (Jesse), and Thomas Lee Buchanan (Melissa); grandchildren Emery, Colton, Hayden, Wyatt, Katie, Liam, Avery, Cruse, Jakob, and Peyton. Her mother Julia E. Jordan; siblings Andy Jordan (Ramona) and Cindy Horvath (Glenn) as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Evergreen Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home also. There will be a live stream of the service beginning at 1:45pm on Friday on the Evergreen Funeral Home & Evergreen Cemetery Facebook page.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery & Mausoleums.
In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National MS Society.
