We are heartbroken to announce the death of beloved Samuel Butler. He passed away peacefully on Sunday March 12, 2023 at the age of 65 surrounded by his friends and family. Samuel, born in Greensboro, Alabama, attended and graduated from R.C. Hatch High school before moving on to Central State university in Wilberforce, OH. He would begin to serve actively for 12 years in the Army beginning in 1982. Later he would continue as a Sargent in the Army National Guard until he would retire in 2015 but while also being employed as a Team Lead/Supervisor at the Toyota Manufacturing plant in Georgetown, KY for 25 years before he retired in 2022. Samuel, a.k.a. BigBaller, B, Zeke, loved his peers, family & happiness deeply. He always enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones, traveling, eating good foods, throwing back a Mickey or two watching sports but never a day without cracking a joke and having a good loud laugh. He leaves behind his sons, Samaki and Dsamuel; his daughter, Nikol; Grandchildren, Samaki Jr., Ocean, and Ja’Vaiya; Brothers, Cleveland, Edward; Sisters, Daisy, Bertha, and Olivia; but also a platoon of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Corrine and Zeke; as well as his brother Arron.
A visitation for Samuel will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. A committal service will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd., Radcliff, KY 40160.
