Ruby Mae Charles, 94, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017.
She was a native of Louisiana, where she retired as a school custodian, and was a member of Greater St. John Baptist Church. Following Hurricane Katrina, she moved to Louisville, where she became a member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church.
Ruby was preceded in death by her sons Johnny Duvall and Ennis Charles, and a granddaughter Margo Charles. Survivors include her children Joyce Charles-Johnson and Doreen Charles; and grandchildren Leonard Dunn, Bruce Charles, Keith Charles, and Caryn Charles.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 Thursday at Bates Memorial Baptist Church, 620 Lampton Street, followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service Thursday.
