Rose Jean Heins Godfrey

Rose was a loving mother, devoted wife, and caring friend. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and found great comfort with her relationship with her Lord and Savior. She was also a retired supervisor with 29 years of service with Brown & Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert R. Godfrey in July of 2010; her parents, Herman H. Heins and Marie Parsons; and her sisters, Mary Baird and Dorothy Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; her son Dennis L. and Susan Godfrey; daughter Rose and Richard Elliott; and son Robert Wayne and Janet Godfrey; her brother Donald Heins; four grandsons, Erin, Patrick, Robert and Peter Godfrey; four granddaughters, Stacie Alvey, Lindy Horn, Shelley Lauder and Lara Hans; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

A celebration of Rose's life will be held 3-9 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Eagle Creek Clubhouse, 8000 Eagle Creek Dr., Louisville, KY 40222. Arch L.
