Roscoe Franklin Willis, 88, of Louisville passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was born on September 12, 1923, to the late Sydney and Flossie Farless Willis in Lyon County, Kentucky. He was a retired employee with V.V. Cooke Chevrolet with over 36 years of service and a cattle farmer for 20 years on his Spencer County farm. He was on the board of trustees and was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Young Willis.
He is survived by his children, Cassandra (William Jr.) Minor and Roscoe “Rick” (Kay) Willis II; grandchildren, Jenny (Rob) Matigian, Carrie Minor, William “Billy” Minor III, Roscoe “Trey“(Benny) Willis III, Allyson Willis and Tyler Willis; six great-grandchildren and long time friend, Edna Werder.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Monday, March 12, 2012, at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Sunday at the funeral home.
