Rondell Lee Berry

Rondell Lee Berry, age 88 passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 1:50 p.m. at Hosparus Health of Louisville, Norton Palliative Care. As he breathed his last breath, he was comforted with loving words and soft and tender hands to hold.

Ron was born on November 15, 1934 in Upton, Kentucky to the late Sylvester Taylor Berry and Isabelle Ward Berry. Ron graduated from Glendale High School in 1952. He was an insurance agent and sales manager for Commonwealth Life Insurance Company (Dixie Agency) for 30 years. He was an active member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Ron enjoyed golfing, gardening and cheering on his favorite team UK Wildcats! But most of all, Ron loved telling stories and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Isabelle Berry; his beloved wife, Mary Marlene Berry; former spouse, JoAnn Berry; brothers; Vestor Vernon Berry; Dennie Berry; step-brother, Marvin Jolly and son-in-law, Brian Ashley.

Left behind to cherish the memory of Ron, are his daughters, Rhonda Waldridge (Michael), Leslee King and Hope Billiter (Travis); his loving companion of 45 years, Peggy Hall; and her children, whom he loved as his own, Tony Hall (Terri), Denise Metcalfe (Mike) and Lesia Brewer (Gary); ten grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213. A service to honor the life of Ron will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Ron will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville or Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church.
