He served his country as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army and Retired after thirty-one years of faithful service.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and H. Marie Ayers, a son, Ronald William Ayers, Jr. and a sister, Janet D. Ayers.
He is survived by his wife of twenty nine years, Kathryn "Kathi" H. Ayers; children, Tareen D. Ayers and Christa G. Johnson (Phil); a sister, Lois I. Ohley; grandchildren, Sarah (Ayers) Rodgers (Bryan), Ronald "Ron" William Ayers, III, Cassandra “Cassie” Ayers, Lindsey M. and Shelby A. Norwood, Christian T. and Caden Z. Grizzard; great grand-children, Victoria E. Rodgers, Carter Anthony Edward Ayers, Reagan A. and Riley A. Ayers, and Wyatt E. Sides. Ron is also survived by his parents-in-law, J. Roger and C. Anne Hill; sister-in-law, C. Faline Hill (Jim) and a brother-in-law, Chris C. Hill (Carrie and their son, Soren); nieces and nephews, M. Denise Elliott (Ed), Kristi M. Lisiecki (Jim); great nephews and niece, Aaron L. Elliott (Angella) and Blake L. Elliott (Melissa), Kyle J. Lisiecki and Allison M. Lisiecki. He also had great great nieces and nephews.
A funeral to celebrate Ron’s life will be conducted at 10am on Friday, September 23, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Guests are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 4-8pm.
