He was a graduate of Southern High School and the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School. Ron was employed as a chemical engineer at the American Synthetic Rubber Company and later worked for the Jefferson County Air Pollution Control Board. He was a past member of the Louisville Ski Club. Ron served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a naturalist and truly enjoyed hiking and the outdoors.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Joshua Elliott Bohannon and a brother, Timothy Elliott Bohannon.
He is survived by his mother, Theresa Bohannon; a sister, Carolyn Jean Ball (James F.); a brother, Kenneth Sandy Bohannon (Judy); nieces, Heather M. Littlefield (Matthew) and Caroline “Carrie” Bohannon; nephews, Scott Bohannon (Josephine) and James Joshua “JJ” Ball (Jennifer); three great nieces and five great nephews.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Monday at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 and Monday from 10-12 at the funeral home.
