Romeo Hipolito Mercado, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his home in Louisville, KY. He was born on August 19, 1935 in Manila, Philippines to the late Antonio and Juanita H. Mercado. He is also preceded in death by his late brother, Antonio Mercado, Jr.
Romeo graduated as a Chemist from the University of the Philippines. He worked and retired as a district supervisor at San Miguel Brewery, Inc., in the Philippines. Romeo touched the lives of all that he met and lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family, gardening, baking and raising his children and grandchildren. Romeo was a god-fearing, charitable and kind hearted son, brother, father and grandfather who will forever live on in the hearts of those he loves.
He is survived by his loving wife, Herminia Bautista Mercado; four children, Dr. Miriam Mercado Reyes, Melynda Mercado Quinn, Romeo Michael Mercado and Dr. Michelle Mercado Yu; and his seven grandchildren, Glenn Reyes, Wesley and Anthony Quinn, Francesca and Nicolette Mercado and Nigel and Nathan Yu.
All services for Romeo will be private for the family.
