He is preceded in death by his wife, Patty Schmidt, also by Harry Schmidt, Edward Schmidt, Jane Schmidt, William Schmidt, and George Schmidt.
He is survived by two daughters: Laura Lynn McCoun McCauley and Pam Ward (Sam), two step children: Michael Smith and Beverly Higuera, one brother, Daniel Schmidt, 12 Grandchildren, Brandon McCauley, Amanda McCauley, Craig Ward, Clay Ward, Corey Cantu, Kristina Francis, Angelica Higuera, Carlos Higuera, Alicia Higuera, Nicholas Bowman, Alexander Smith, Kelli Smith & 15 great grandchildren
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 1st at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218)
Visitation will be Thursday, July 1st from 11am until the funeral time at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
