Robert R. Godfrey, 85, of Louisville passed on Monday from complications of a heart attack. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker at Reynolds Metal Company. Mr. Godfrey was a Navy Veteran of World War II serving on the USS Feland where he was in the pacific campaign, where he was involved in 6 different invasions. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Hines. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Rose Jean Godfrey; three children, Dennis L. Godfrey (Susan), Rose M. Elliott ( Richard) and Robert Wayne Godfrey (Janet); one brother, Ronald Eugene Godfrey; 2 sisters, Doris Hobbs and Naomi Morris; four grandsons, Erin, Patrick, Robert, and Peter Godfrey; four granddaughters, Stacie Alvey, Lindy Horn, Shelley Lauder and Lara Hans; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. A celebration of Robert's life will be held from 3-5 p.m Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Eagle Creek Club House, 8000 Eagle Creek Drive, Louisville, KY 40222. In place of customary expressions of sympathy the family has requested memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Arch L.
