Robert Kendall Foster, 94, died Dec. 2 after a short illness. Foster served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, then began a career as a life-long educator. He earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Louisville. After working as a classroom teacher and school administrator, Foster retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education as the Supervisor of Social Studies in 1979. Foster is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Catherine Foster, and his five sisters: Faye Youmans, Marvelle Holbrook, Marie Weihe, Ruth Miller, and Esther Kingsley. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Voleen McNeil Foster, seven nieces and nephews, and 15 great nieces and nephews. The family thanks the Hosparus team and the staff at Westminster Terrace for their love and care. A memorial service will be held at the Westminster Terrace chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday.
