Robert Wesley Crenshaw

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Wesley Crenshaw who passed away on May 1st, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born in Louisville,KY to Ernest Ray Crenshaw and Edna Adeline Badgett Crenshaw. He lived in Lawrenceburg, KY in his beloved log cabin.

After high school, Robert joined the United States Navy and served as a radioman on a submarine. He was proud of his service to his country and always spoke fondly of his time in the Navy.

In 1958, he married his beloved wife Diane Thelma Kaestner, and together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. They raised three children, Ronald Wesley, Russell Wayne, and his daughter, Rhonda Barnett all three children held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane; one son, Ronald; and grandson, Chadwick Middleton.

In his free time, Robert loved watching Westerns, Bob Ross, John Wayne and taking lots of random notes. He drove a green VW beetle, which was his pride and joy. He had a sweet tooth and loved candy and bubble gum. Everyone who knew him thought he was one of the sweetest people they had ever met.

Robert loved life and always had a positive outlook on things. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on through the countless people he touched during his life.

Robert is survived by his brother, Gerald R. Crenshaw, his sister Sharon N. Doll, one son Russell Crenshaw (Tijuana Crenshaw), and his daughter, Rhonda Barnett (Shawn Barnett), 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222.
