Bob was born on June 26, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents, William Irving & Elizabeth Bird. Bob was a member of the Kenwood Heights Christian Church. In 2011 Bob gave his life to Christ, he was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame, Pinstripers Hall of Fame, member of the Okolona Street Rods and Show Director for the Carl Casper Custom Auto Show for 25 years & a member of NSRA. He also was the owner & operator of Bob Taylor's House of Color. Bob was known nationwide for his skills in custom auto painting & pinstriping.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Irving & Elizabeth Taylor; brothers, David Taylor & Stephen Taylor; sisters, Mary Lynn Johnson & Carol Pate; half - brother, Bill Taylor; granddaughter, Loren Taylor.
Left to cherish his unforgettable memory is his wife, Joann Taylor with who he shared 59 years of marriage; children, Danny (Debbie) Taylor, Tammy (Mark) Deetsch & Rhonda (Joe) Higdon; grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Underwood, Mark Jr. (Sarah) Deetsch, Dustin (Alexa) Higdon, Matthew (Madison) Deetsch, Devin (Cierra) Higdon & Mason Deetsch; great - grandchildren, Logan Underwood, Liam Underwood, Draper Deetsch, Graham Deetsch, Ballard Deetsch, Ava Conley, Everly Conley, Kirra Higdon, Rowan Higdon, Micah Higdon & Noah Higdon; brother, Michael Taylor; plus, many nieces, nephews, cousins & a host of other relatives, family & friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Garden of Angels of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and then again on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Crusade for Children.
