Rita D Rouse

She was born on February 7, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph Arthur Lush and Rosa (Higdon) Lush.

She was a homemaker and a mother of six. Her children went to school and she went to work and retired from Watterson Elementary School as a cafeteria associate. She loved to read, work puzzles, playing cards and riding around with her husband (Kenny).

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, the late Kenneth Ladd Rouse Sr., her brothers, William Bernard Lush and wife Loretta. Joseph Walter Lush, Louis Eugene Lush, Francis Irvin Lush and sisters, Regina Agnes Lush, Joyce Marie (Lush) Sanders and husband Don, Ruth Ann (Lush) Wohner and her husband David; her daughter-in-law Debbie Rouse, son-in-law Ron Davis and her great granddaughter Ally Hartweck.

Here to carry on Rita’s memory are her children William Dale Rouse, Kenneth Ladd Rouse Jr. (Sue), Sharon Davis, Shirley Presswood (Kenny), Sheila Hartweck (Fred), Joseph Rouse and her brother Charles Richard Lush (Pat); 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Thursday June 8, 2023 from 3PM-8PM. Funeral service will be the following day at 12PM in the funeral home chapel.
