Carter, Rita Faye, 68, left this world on October 6, 2016. The first born of Robert and Winona Chapman, she entered this world August 11, 1948, followed by two brothers, Dennis Lee Chapman and Richard Edward Chapman.
Rita and Bobby were married a wonderful 46 years. It was those years that she served the Lord as a Sunday School Teacher at Highland Park Second Baptist. She was a Kentucky Colonel by serving in Brother/Sisters reading program. Rita worked for several companies, helped in opening The Hyatt Regency of Louisville, and worked with the Presbyterians Homes and Services.
She leaves behind husband Bob and a brother; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews, all who were very dear to her. She joins her deceased daughter Angela (1975) and her parents and brother. Rest in Peace.
Left to cherish Rita’s memory is her loving husband, Bobby G. Carter; son, Jason Andrew Carter; grandson, Nico Carter; and daughter-in-law, Jean Carter.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel with entombment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 pm-8 pm and Tuesday from 12 pm-2 pm at the funeral home.
Before returning to her heavenly home, she went about the Lord’s work serving many years in church work. Into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, we send Rita, a good and obedient servant.
