Rebecca Sue Cox, age 72, of Mt. Washington, KY returned to her Heavenly home Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born on February 20, 1951, to Marvin and Edith (Morgan) Galladay. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters Pamela Sue Riley and Sandra Lynn Mayes and grandson Kevin Scott Riley. She is survived by her children Billy Mayes, Sandra Mayes Angelini (Steve) and Leslie Wells (Danny), sisters Peggy Deering and Jackie Perry as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family who will miss her dearly. Over the years she worked at Frito Lay and Papa John’s. Her laugh was contagious. Sewing and crocheting were hobbies she was extremely talented at. Give her a shotgun/rifle and she’d give any man a run for their money rabbit hunting. She could use a shovel gardening and didn’t mind getting dirty or breaking a sweat. She had an outward beauty that was as great as her feisty spirit. She loved her children. Unconditionally. Always. Events that could have broke her were events that showed she had the strength to walk through a living hell and still somehow go on with life. She’ll be remembered for a lot of things in life. Some she was proud of, some she may have wished she could have done differently. Regardless she did the best she could with the hand she’d been dealt. Cremation of the remains was chosen. A public memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Sunday, January 14th. at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates.
