Ray was an avid gun collector and was a member of a Corvette Club. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shooting his guns or flying planes. After 48 years as a pilot, flying with the military, Ray retired as Chief Warrant Officer 4. Ray was a Vietnam Veteran and Desert Storm Veteran. Within his 48-year career, Ray was in the Army, Army Reserves, Air Force, Air National Guard, and was a chaplain.
Here to carry on his memory is his wife of 57 years, Karen Christopher, children; Richard Franklin Christopher, Traci Lynn Christopher, Amanda M. Eamer (Kelley), and Wendi Lynn Morris (Sean), grandchildren; Bradley Franklin Christopher, Savannah Alexandria Nezbeth, Emelia Ellen Currin, Reagan Leigh Morris, Emma Grace Morris, Stone Xavier Zagar, Mirabella Francescia Zagar, and Genevieve Rose Morris, siblings; Joyce Ann Britton, Jeanie Dale Chadwick, Joseph Paul Christopher, Margaret Rose Christopher, and Mary Evelyn Smith. Along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends and Beloved dog, Killer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 2-7 PM and Friday, December 3, 2021 from 10-12 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
A Celebration of Ray’s Life will take place on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM with Military Honors to follow. A reception will follow the services at Stephens Lutheran Church.
