Ray Edward Sturgill, 84, of Louisville, KY passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born to the late George and Edna Sturgill in Corbin KY. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired Foundry Engineer at American Standard where he worked for 32 yrs. He was also a member of the American Foundry Society. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenna Sturgill, granddaughter; Tarah Johnson, brothers; Duke Sturgill, Jim Sturgill, Charles Sturgill, Cloyd Sturgill, sisters; Beulah Kells and Toni Winkle. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Pam Ledrick, Sandra Allen, Bruce Sturgill, Gary Sturgill, grandchildren; Crystal Arkenberg, Ian Ledrick, Kacie Ledrick, Ashley Skeeters (Dustin), John Allen (Abby), Jeremy Sturgill, Jordan Sturgill, Jacquelyn Sturgill, great grandchildren; Owen Bloodworth, Adrienne Orosco and Alexander Orosco, sisters; Maudie Hensley and Charlene Caudill, and a host of many other family members and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ray will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy. Louisville KY 40219 with entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-8pm and Friday from 9am until time of the service.
