Patsy J. Mayes

Mayes, Patsy J. 84, passed away December 26, 2016. Patsy was a faithful member of Watterson Trail Church of Christ. She also proudly served her community on the Shivley City Council for 30 years and was a member of the Young Women’s Democratic Club. Patsy was a graduate of duPont Manual High School, a former Eastern Star, Kentucky Colonel and a founding member of the Jefferson County Youth Football League. Patsy was honored by the City of Shivley as they named the park’s baseball fields after her for her many years of service. Patsy leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons Jerry Mayes (Marla), Mike Mayes (Robin) and Bill Mayes (Jamie), grandchildren Lexi Mayes, Candyce Mayes, Tarrah Carter (Dustin), Stephanie Mayes, Aaron Mayes (Jessica), Ashli Mayes and Jennifer Shaw (William) and great grandchildren Zander and Ziva Carter, Stella Mayes and Korbin Shaw. A Service to honor the life of Patsy will be held Thursday at 10am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
