Patricia Ann Marquess

Patricia Ann Marquess, 81, of Louisville, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Baptist Health Louisville with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Donald Marquess for 61 years and daughter of the late Rose and Theodore Russell. She was born November 9, 1941. Pat graduated from Mercy Academy and was a long-time member of The Church of the Ascension. Pat spent much of her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, pinochle and poker, visits to the casino, and attending her children and grandchildren’s many sporting events.

In addition to her husband, Pat leaves behind her three children Don Marquess (Emmy) of Lexington, KY, Doug Marquess (Debbie) and Jan Shadowens (Eric), both of Louisville, KY, eight grandchildren, Kyle (Allison), Kelly (Colin), Justin (Emily), Elizabeth, Andrew, Jackson, Will and Clay, three great-grandchildren, Kamron, Scarlett and Lillian, her sister Barbara Coleman (Pete) her brother, Ted Russell (Elaine), as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin sisters, Joan Rone (surviving spouse Mel) and Judy Smith (Artie).

Pat’s Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 17th from 2 – 8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to “Mass of the Air” and/or St. Jude Hospital.
