Patricia Ann Foy, 68, of Prospect, KY, was called home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Louisville after a brief illness. She was a devoted disciple and active member of St. John United Methodist Church in Prospect.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend, Patricia (Trish) passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her. Trish is survived by her husband Dennis; children Matthew (Jennifer) of Louisville, KY and David (Keri) of Prospect, KY; brother James (Carrie) Childers of Paducah, KY; and grandchildren: Annabelle, Olivia, Josephine, Miles and Vivienne Foy. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar “Bud” Childers, and mother, Josephine Childers, of Paducah, KY.
Possessed with the heart of a teacher, Trish graduated Murray State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling, with additional advanced course work at the University of Louisville. Trish enjoyed a successful career as an English teacher and then counselor of students in the Jefferson County Public School system. She was a member of the Sigma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, JCRTA and KRTA.
Trish was a long-time member of the Louisville Emmaus and Chrysalis communities and held leadership positions on the boards of Emmaus and Chrysalis and retreat weekends as well as REC prison ministry weekends.
An avid Louisville Cardinal fan, she loved attending football games, Southern hospitality and being social with her expansive network of friends.
Visitation will be Thursday , March 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., and Friday, March 10 at St John Methodist Church in Prospect from 10-11 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at St. John with burial services at Cave Hill Cemetery immediately following.
