I learned a lot from Dr. Patricia Cerrito online. I called to speak to her office but a male voice appear on the answering machine. I keep searching about her to say thank you, but found that she passed away. I deeply felt about her and a smile on her face from her obituary picture gave me a sense of strength.

I last saw Patty in 1977, when she was a math grad student at Indiana University and I was a senior.   We used to do our homework together frequently, and today I was trying to find her on the web so that we could perhaps reminisce about old times at IU.  I am stunned that she is gone; 55 is way too young.  She was a wonderful person, and as smart as they come.

As we all remember Pat and keep her memories, we think of you and your sorrow and wish you strength and pray for you.

People think I am brave, but I'm not. The truth is, I'm barely hanging on, even now. Most of the guests that enter on these pages know you as a teacher, researcher, and author. I know you as wife, mother, lover, and friend. You once called me immature, but I proved to you otherwise and you married me. God made you for me, now he took you away; but in Christ, there are no goodbys, In Christ, there is no end, so I'll hold on to Jesus with all that I have to see you again--I'll see you again.

I am very sad to hear this news.  I learned so much from Dr. Cerrito.  I was a student of hers and was actually enrolled in an Ind. Study course with her this semester.  I thoroughly enjoyed our correspondence, discussing ideas and research.  My prayers go out to her family.  She will be missed.

I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful comments you have given Dr. Patricia Cerrito. I did not fully understand her contributions and work as a professor but have known her my entire life. She was my sister. I loved my sister very much and will miss her greatly.   I am thankful to read such wonderful things about her and have had the chance to meet her colleagues and students. She touched many lives and was truly dedicated to her husband, her children and the rest of her family as well as her profession. I have never known a more courageous person.

I will miss you, Pat.  Your knowledge of the bible and the history surrounding the events of the New Testament added tremendously to my understanding of the word. Enjoy your much earned rest.

We are both saddened to hear of Dr. Cerrito's passing. She was a wonderful and passionate professor. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was so sad to hear about this bad news. Dr. Cerrito was really a good advisor. What I learned from her is very useful and I willl use it in my career. I will benefit from it for life.

I was also saddened to hear of Dr. Cerrito's passing.  I remember well both her and I doing beta tests on SAS's Text Miner product back in 2002/3 time frame.  I learned so much in her presentations at SAS User group conferences and she has laid such inroads for analytics especially in the health sciences area.  I will sincerely miss her and my condolences to Dr. Cerrito's family in this time of loss; my prayers are with you.

I was so sad to hear of Patricia's passing.  I first met Patricia while working at SAS but continued our friendship beyond that. I miss Patricia, My heart aches knowing how deeply you all miss her.  A strong woman who stood for her convictions, she imparted knowledge that helped millions.

I worked with Pat in recent years  because she was a customer and advocate of SAS software - where I work.   This obituary is brief and can only begin to allude to her huge lists of accomplishments as a teacher and researcher - She was brilliant and generous with her knowledge and I am truly honored to have known her and worked with her. What a loss to all of us. We were praying for her and now pray for her soul to rest in peace.

I am so very sorry to hear about Pat's death. I knew Pat on a professional level. She gave us the opportunity to publish one of her books on data mining. We always looked forward to seeing Pat at conferences, where she would proudly and lovingly share updates about her work, her students, and her family. Pat's passion for life was so exciting, and I was amazed by all that she accomplished, both professionally and personally. I will miss her. Please know that Pat, her family, her friends, her students, and her colleagues, are in my thoughts and prayers.
