Nedra Virginia Duke, 86, of Louisville, passed away November 1, 2014 at her home. She was born on November 25, 1927 in Mendenhall, Mississippi to the late Melvin and Wynema Hayes. Nedra was a member of both Highview Baptist Church and Fern Creek Baptist Church where she was very involved with the Adult classes as well as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Duke and a son, Michael Duke.
She is survived by her two sons, Sam Duke (Donna) and Stephen Duke (Pam Richcreek); three grandchildren, Chris Duke, Amy Duke Carey and Jessica Duke; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating Nedra's life will be conducted Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12-2 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested the Senior Adult Classes at Highview Baptist Church.
