Myrdle Juanita Hargrave Burden

Myrdle Juanita Hargrave Burden, 86, passed away at her home in Louisville, Kentucky on August 17, 2023. Juanita was born in Samuel's Kentucky to Luther and Maggie Hardin. She was the second to last born of 12 children. She moved to Louisville at the age of 13 and worked for the Kresge Store in her younger teen years. Then went on to become a Restaurant owner by the age of 17, this is when she met Paul, the father of her children. She owned and operated several Restaurants in the Louisville area over the years. Some included were The Hargrave Grill (Market St), The Tijuana Restaurant (Muldraugh, Ky), Paul's Burger Boy (2nd & Magnolia), The Milner Cafeteria (Jefferson St), Juanita's Town & Country (Jefferson St), and then Juanita's Burger Boy (Brook & Burnett). She retired from her last Restaurant after 37 years of operation. Burger Boy still remains, under new ownership.

Juanita loved to work long hours, and was a very independent and strong woman. She loved her family with all of her heart. She enjoyed her businesses, and she enjoyed cooking. You never left her house hungry, because she would make sure that you were fed, and had some to take with you. It was her nurturing and caring nature to take care of people, and help in any way she could. She loved to garden and go fishing, and being outside in the fresh air. Juanita lived a long life, with many chapters of her journey. She will be remembered for her strength and her will to succeed, along with the way she cared for people. She was a Beautiful woman, inside and out! A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She is loved by many that will miss her warm touch, and her warm heart!

Myrdle Juanita Hargrave Burden was proceeded by her first husband of 12 years Jessie Paul Hargrave. Her second husband of 6 years Thomas Lee Wooldridge. Her third husband of 24 years Denzel Brewster Burden. Her children are son Ricky Allen Hargrave (Charlotte), and daughter Anita Paulette Lawson (James), and step daughter Rhonda McCoy (Kenny). Her grandchildren are as follows, Mason Hargrave, Leia Hargrave, Morgan Sprague (Timothy), Paul Lawson (Casie), Jason Lawson (Savanah), Julie Lawson, Chris Lawson, Dorothy Clark, James Clark, David McCoy, and she is preceded by Steven McCoy. She has many loving great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded by all of her 11 siblings, and parents, and many good friends.

We would like to share our gratitude to her family physician, Dr. Doug Mattingly and his team, the Hosparus team, and her nurse Brittany.

Juanita took her last breaths at home, with her family, where she wanted to be.
