Owens, Mildred J. “Red”, 69, entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2014. Mildred worked as a registered nurse for many years and later retired from Humana as an insurance adjuster. She enjoyed gardening, playing slot machines and was an avid animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Burridge and Oletha Garrett.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 37 years, Solomon; brother, Joseph H. Burridge; sister, Mary Louise Warford (Benny); half-brother, William Ray Millay; half-sister, Rileyene Snook; son, Shawn Owens (Rebecca); grandchildren, Zoe Owens; Caelum Owens; and Lyra Owens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday at 12pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm-8pm at the funeral home, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
