Mildred Katherine Cook, 65, of Louisville passed away on February 18, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1958 to the late Fred and Bessie Begley. Preceding her in death are her brothers Charles and Richard Begley. Survivors include her husband of 48 years Virgil Cook, children; Anthony Cook (Melissa), Patricia Deweese (Todd), 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and sisters Connie Sea (Terry) and Barbara Rainbolt (Mike).
Mildred was a graduate of Atherton High School and later began her career as a nursing assistant and health care provider. She started her own business in 2008. She was also a beautician and cut hair for several years. Mildred loved playing bingo, adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was a longtime member of Clifton Christian Church.
A funeral service for Mildred will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home 2428 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206. Visitation will be Thursday February 22, 2024 from 3pm-8pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
