Melvin Reece, 97, was born on March 24, 1923 in Beattyville, KY to the late William and Pauline Reece, and passed away on Saturday August 29, 2020. Mr. Reece was retired from the U.S. Army, and Ford Motor Co., and was a member of the Rutledge Road Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Reece. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ginger Whitehouse (Eddie); sons, Melvin Reece, Jr., Ray Reece (Lucia); and Derald Reece; sisters, Annie and Mildred; and several grand and great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. A graveside service for Mr. Reece will be held at 11 am on Wednesday Sept. 2, 2020 in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, with interment to follow.
