Mary Jo Woodward

Mary Jo Woodward, 83, of Louisville passed away on Sunday July 10, 2022. Born November 1, 1938 in Portsmouth, VA, Mary Jo was the eldest daughter of the late Roy and Mary Sue (Blair) Woodward. In 1956, she graduated with honors in the first class of females to attend Louisville Male High School. At Male, she was in the chorus and one summer appeared in a production of Oklahoma! at Iroquois Park Amphitheater. After graduation, she went to work for Louisville Gas and Electric. She retired as administrative assistant to the president of Corhart Refractories where she worked for over 22 years and in 1988 received the Corhart President’s Award. In 1991, she earned an associate degree in Business Administration and Management from Jefferson County Community College. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Peggy Stump and Sandy (Frank “Skip”) Spalding, nieces Laura Davis and Paige McDonald, and extended family and friends. Funeral service for Mary Jo will be held at noon on Friday July 15, 2022 in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-8 pm.
