Mary Edna Vinson

Mary E. Vinson, 77, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in Cave City, KY on September 9, 1944 to the late Olen and Matery A. (Shirley) Jessie. While she held many vocations throughout her life, she was most proud of serving as an Exceptional Children’s Transportation Assistant for Jefferson County Public Schools for over a decade. She was devoted to her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jimmy Vinson; her parents; sisters, Jeanice Jessie, Vinnie Jessie and Audrey Garrett; brothers, Charlie Jessie, and James Jessie.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Keith Vinson, Lora Garrett (Carl), Brian Vinson (Jan); grandchildren, Heather Garrett, Carl L. Garrett III, Hunter Vinson, Chase Vinson; great grandchildren, Gavin and Carl Garrett IV; sisters, Judy Anthony (Gerald)and Janet Stark; brothers, Wayne Shirley, William Jessie (Lilly), Wendell Jessie (Doris), Bill Jessie, Jerry Jessie, Danny Jessie, Angram Jessie, and Twyman Jessie; and a host of other loving family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10:00am at Arch L. Heady – Okolona Funeral Home with burial at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.
