Mary Ann Ray

     She was a Teacher, Education Program Administrator and Rehabilitation Counselor for the Kentucky Department of Education.

     Mary Ann was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, former member of the Order of Eastern Star, life member of the Purple Heart Association and life member of the DAV Auxiliary. Baptist by faith, Mary Ann was a graduate of Morehead State University and she received her Master’s Degree in Education from Western Kentucky University.  She was pursuing a Certificate of Superintendency at the University of Louisville.

     She was preceded in death by her father, Aster Walker.

     Survivors include, her husband, Tom Ray; mother Alberta Walker; brother, Kenneth Walker; cousins, Charles, (Norma), and Ronnie Stidham, (Ava); numerous nieces and nephews in the Huntington, West Virginia area. She is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

           Her funeral service will be Saturday at Noon at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
