Mary F. McDowell

She was born on September 20, 1938 in Oldham County to the late Robert and Helen Sutherland. Mary is also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Earl Y. McDowell Sr., sister Sue Stamper, grandsons Robert and Jason McDowell, and great-granddaughter Kinsley McDowell.

Survivors left to carry on her memory are her children; Debbie Cottle, Earl McDowell (Mandy), Kenny McDowell (Wanda), Melissa Cain, and Tim McDowell, grandchildren; Aileen Cottle, Brian and Amie McDowell, Tavis Cain, Kevin Cain, and Kailin Cain (Noah), great-grandchildren; Neveah Brian, Bailey McDowell, Hunter McDowell, Lucas Murray, and Macey McDowell, and great-great grandson Braxton Tubbs, as well as one on the way! And of course her host of extended family and friends.

Mary was a devoted member of Victory Baptist church for many years and her ministry will carry on through the people she encountered and spent time with. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on Thursday June, 6, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Village 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222 with visitation prior from 10am-1pm. Interment will follow the funeral service at Bagdad Cemetery.
