Mary Jane Cooke

Mary Jane Cooke, 97, of Louisville, KY, passed away in her home on January 2, 2021. Jane was born in Louisville, KY on January 14, 1924 to the late Flora and John Peterworth. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Gus Cooke and her beloved aunts, Emma and Carolyn Kimmel.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Sue Horn, Barbara Fewell, Nancy Steele and Fred Cooke as well as son-in-law, Steve Steele and daughter-in-law, Tracey Cooke; grandchildren, David Horn, Wendy Watts, Mike Steele, Amy Gray, Tommy Steele, Brittany Shortridge, Baylee Steele, Becky Burton, Terri Hicks, Lori Lee and a host of loving great-grandchildren.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church for many years. Jane enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, knitting/crocheting, dancing, travel, good food, and spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Services for Jane will be private for the family. Jane will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville in recognition of their invaluable support in her final days.
