Mary Louise Brudy, 96, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Center on the evening of July 24, 2012 with her loving family by her side. For many years her family owned and operated the Koch's Grocery Store at Bonnycastle and Norris Place. She loved to dance, play the piano, attend sports events and play bridge.
She had belonged and been a member of St. John's Evangelical Church of Christ for over 80 years.
Along with her parents, Anthony J. and Iva Swincher Koch she was preceded in death by her loving husband, A.G. "Bud" Brudy and a daughter, Mary Ann Mitchell.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pat (Bill) McCullough; granddaughters, Malinda (Robbie) Pearson, Tammy (Larry) Pate, Karen McCullough, and Bonnie (Keith) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Amber Pate, Brittany and Drew Pearson, Stephen Stewart and Christopher Colbert; great-great-grandaughter, Addison Stewart; cousins, Louise Barrett, Phyllis Scutchfield and Kim Hix.
In celebration of her spunk, sense of humor and intense love of family, Mary's Life Celebration service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the "angels walking on earth" at the Good Samaritan Center for all of their love and care given to Mary and them during this time.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Crusade for Children or the American Luekemia Foundation.
