Mary Ann (Armour) Coffman of Louisville, KY was called home by her Heavenly Father on November 26, 2014 after a long illness. She was 78 years young. Mary Ann was born on March 14, 1936 in Glendale, KY. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Louisville, KY., was a graduate of the Elizabethtown High School Class of 1954, and earned a BS degree from Western Kentucky University in 1965. Mary Ann taught public school for the Hardin and Henderson Counties Boards of Education for ten years. In addition to her career as a public school teacher, she taught Sunday School, and found time to serve in various positions, including Presidents of both Frankfort and Meadow Heights Woman’s’ Clubs. She was a voracious reader, loved various art media including, ceramics, travel, making friends, singing and playing the piano
Mary Ann is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 59 years, Dr. Ralph Stanley Coffman, and two sons, R. Eric Coffman (Betty) and Reid S. Coffman both of Louisville, as well as two granddaughters, Anna Coffman and Sarah Coffman both of Louisville, and a grandson, Hunter Coffman of Phoenix Arizona.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Vernon Reid Armour and Anna Mary Richardson Armour of Elizabethtown, KY; siblings, John Edwards Armour of Radcliff, KY., Marjorie Catherine Armour Pickett (Clarence) and Margaret Bell Armour Sunsdahl (Henry) both of Kokomo, IN as well as numerous and special nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Guests are invited to attend a visitation which be held from 3-8pm Monday, December 1, 2014.
Conducting the eulogy is Mary Ann’s Pastor, Rev. Charles Henderson, assisted by the Rev. William Rogers.
