He was born February 4, 1921 in Cupio, KY, graduated from Male High School in Louisville, and was a World War II veteran.
He was employed as a brick mason for over 30 years and retired from Zoeller Company of Louisville. He was a member of the Kenwood Optimist Club and the Iroquois Presbyterian Church. He loved camping and traveling with the Conestoga Club and was the founding member of the "Couples Club," where he made many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Jewell Marcum, after 60 years of marriage; parents, David and Minnie Ogle Marcum; and his brother, John Marcum.
He is survived by his son, Michael Marcum (Linda); grandson, Erik Marcum; and granddaughter, Kelli Clack (Jimmy).
A service celebrating the life of Marvin will be noon Thursday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 6100 Dutchmans Lane #401, 40205.
