Mark Alan Blair, 64, of Louisville passed away peacefully September 13, 2022, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.
Mark enjoyed working on all types of small engine lawn equipment, fishing, go carting and browsing flea markets. He preferred to stay busy and liked to watch old western movies and television shows.
From a young age, Mark had a love for cats and quickly earned their trust. His cats were lavished with love and enjoyed a variety of human food, also making sure that visiting stray cats didn’t go hungry.
Mark is preceded in death by his beloved father David Blair, Sr. and infant daughter Melissa.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother (Norma Jean); brothers David (Vicki) and Terry (Mary Beth); his son Joe (Bobbie); granddaughter Kaeleigh Qualls (Logan); great granddaughter (Parker); grandson Trevor; niece Stephanie Wilder (Jake); great niece Hannah; great nephew Carson and his beloved cats Buster, Anniebelle, Brownie and Tabby.
The family would like to thank Pat Russman and the caring staff at the Norton Cancer Institute at Audubon for the excellent care Mark received.
Guests are welcome for visitation from 3:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville. A service to celebrate Mark’s life will take place in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 21 with a private burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Mark’s honor to Alley Cat Advocates in Louisville.
