A native of Dayton , OH, Marguerite was born on December 19, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Helen Kocsis Kish. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and early in life worked as an operator, and then a manager at Ohio Bell. She was a member of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, and formally of the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville, OH, where her and Tom were founding members and helped develop the church community, and raise funds for building projects like the bell tower.
Marguerite was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas M. Smith; daughter, Stephanie Browne; and siblings, Charles Kish and Julianne “Judy” Kish Denney.
Marguerite is survived by her children, Denise Smith (Steven) and Jennifer Grimes (J.D.); grandchildren, Lauren Browne, Lindsey Browne, Benjamin Grimes, Caleb Grimes, and Zachary Smith.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Jane Cornett and the entire staff of the Episcopal Church Home.
Family and friends may gather for a short visitation at 11 AM and Mass at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 2 at The Church of The Incarnation in Centerville, OH. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH. Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village has been entrusted with the local arrangements.
