She was a registered nurse for 55 years, having worked at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, St. Joseph Infirmary, and retiring from Audubon Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Staples; brothers, Stanley, Richard, Donald and William Fiedler; sisters, Geneva and Catherine Fiedler and Anna Dorothy Hill.
She is survived by her nieces, Bonnie Fleming (Tim), Barbara Huff, Sherry Ballard (Frank), and Linda Compton; and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona Funeral Home with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday.
