Margaret Anita May

Margaret Anita., 88, returned to her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Parkway Nursing Home.

She was born on July 30, 1924 in Marion Co., KY to the late George M. Riggs and Rose P. Riggs Hagan. Anita was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Her husband, John May Sr.; son, John May Jr.; and daughter, Mary Lou Kern ; and eleven siblings preceded her in death.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Anita Sue Vierling (Steven); sister, Mary R. “Sadie” Braden; brothers, Thomas J. Riggs (Joan), and Thomas Leman Hagan (Barbara); five grandchildren, Daniel Vierling (Brenna), Bryan Vierling, Rebecca Vierling, Abbey Vierling, and Jamie Kern Bouchey; three great grandchildren with one great grandson to arrive in May.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3926 Poplar Level Rd. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Prayers will be held at 5 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
