Maggie was born December 6, 1978 (St. Nicholas Day) in Louisville, KY to the late Walter L. Porter and MaryAnn Curran Porter.
She is survived by her 3 loving children, Henry Isaac Miller (19), Charli Bee Miller (17), and Katherine Sofia Poe (9). In addition to her mother, MaryAnn, she is survived by her brother, Chas Porter and her sister, Betsy Porter Wurth (John) and the Wurth children: Roxy, HarperSue and Judah.
She is also survived by her life-partner, Jeremy Yoak, and his daughter, Victoria Lynn Yoak. Maggie loved him since she was 12 and they finally found each other again in 2020. She often referred to Jeremy as the love of her life and was looking forward to many years of travel and joy with him and their children.
Growing up in Louisville, Maggie established many loving friendships that remained with her throughout life. After graduating high school, she received an Associates of Arts Degree from Northern KY University. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University and was currently working to complete her Masters Degree from Purdue University.
Maggie was never bored a day in her life, and took genuine interest in everything and everyone she met. She never met a stranger, and was always ready to lend a hand, an ear or a smile.
Maggie’s passions included traveling with her beloved family, their dog Molly, and their cat Jet. She was an artist, she loved painting, gardening, and rug making. She was a passionate reader and writer since childhood, passing the love of both on to her children. She enjoyed staying connected to the local art community.
She was proud of her position as a Data Engineer at Humana.
Her family was her heart, always talking about her children, telling of the joy they brought to her and noting each of the achievements and advancements made by every one of them.

Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home on Frankfort Avenue, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4pm - 8pm.
There will be a private ceremony honoring her life held at Cave Hill Cemetery, Wednesday September 6, 2023. A commemorative butterfly plaque will be placed on a monument in the Twin Lakes Scattering Garden of Cave Hill.
Celebrate the life and passion for living of the beautiful Maggie Bee, by sharing a hearty laugh, wearing a big smile and carrying a positive, loving attitude toward all… thus her joyful spirit will continue on.
