

She was born to Clifton and Hazel Leslie, in Birmingham, Alabama. Lynda was Baton Rouge’s first female Mayor Pro-Tem Baton Rouge, serving for seven years and affectionately known as “The Velvet Hammer”. She served as city council woman for 11 years, chairman of the Louisiana Naval War Memorial Commission, DACOWITS Council, and Navy Recruiting in New Orleans. The accomplishment she was the most honored by was being part of Operation Upgrade, in which she served on the board and volunteered teaching adults to read. She strived to be of service to her communities, giving of her time freely, to assist in any capacity.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Leslie, her mother Hazel Goff and her brother Bill Leslie.
Lynda is survived by her husband Doug Pulliam; sons, Mark (Jean) Imes, Matthew (Paula) Imes, and Stephen (Glenda) Imes; sisters, Pat (Jerry O’Connor) Mack, and Becky (Dana) Griffin; sister in-law Bobbi Leslie; and her grandchildren, Susan, Kevin, Carolyn, Wyatt and Haley and several extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY followed by interment in our cemetery.
Family and friends are welcome to visit, at the funeral home, on Saturday morning from 10 am until time of service.
