Louis was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he volunteered at their fish fry and served as a Hospitality Minister and Minister of the Holy Communion for the HomeBound. He was a member of K of C Assumption Council 4473 and volunteered for their chicken dinners. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a member of and past Commandant of the Marine Corps League 729 and was awarded the Marine of the Year in 2012. Past Region Chairman of the SME of Louisville, a member of the Louisville Rose Society, a KY Colonel and volunteered with Toys for Tots. Louis retired from International Harvester, Naval Ordinance and CACI. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Technical Institute and was a Flaget High School alumnus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Florence Lindle and his sister, Martha Henson.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Lindle, daughter, Sherry Lindle, sons, James Lindle (Jann) and Wayne Lindle (Becky), brothers, Rev Lawrence Lindle, Raymond Lindle (Shirley), sister, Sr. Lois Lindle and a brother-in-law, Ray Henson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tiffanie, Jessica, Erin, Brittany, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dog Tippy.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Louis’ life will be conducted 10 am, Saturday May 4, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Church 7500 Tangelo Drive, Louisville, KY 40228 with Entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held 2-8 pm Friday, May 3, 2013 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
