Lola Mae Barnes

Lola Mae Barnes, 102, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She was born May 17, 1912 in Beaver Dam Ky to the late Gilbert and Leona Hoskins. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Parkland Baptist Church for years then Buechel Park Baptist. She worked at Kaufman Straus in the China Dept. for over 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jesse R. Barnes, three sisters, Margaret Arbuckle, Anna James and Jetture Coleman, two brothers, Riley and Gilbert Ross Hoskins.

Lola is survived by a daughter, Maxine Phillips (Robert), two grandchildren, Diana Poteet (Brent) and Ann Marie Horn (Kenny), four great-grandchildren, three great great- grandchildren, and one great great great-granddaughter. Special thanks to all the people at Summerfield for the excellent care given.

The Funeral Service for Lola will be conducted Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 at 10am in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with a private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
