She was a member of the Shawnee Baptist Church.
Mrs. Alender was preceded in rest by her husband, Joseph Alender, Sr.; her parents, Millard and Kathryn Lucian; and a sister, Mary Jane Higdon.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Alender; three daughters, Mary Jo Cottrill (Dennis), Barbara Hesson (Jerry), Karen Baldwin (Steve); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Smith and Brenda Colyer; and a brother, Donald Lucian.
Her funeral will be on Saturday, June 3rd, at 1 PM at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pm until 8pm and Saturday from 9am until the time of service.
