Lois Jean Dewain

Lois Jean Dewain, age 93 passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 due to natural causes. She was the former Lois Jean Reid, a retired quality control inspector at General Electric with 34 years of service. She was a member and volunteer for the local 761 Retirees Club and the GE Retirees Association. She served on the GERA Board as secretary and recruited the entertainment for both clubs for several years. She was also a Kentucky Colonel. Lois was a devoted daughter, very beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Cora Lee Reid, Siblings: Wallace, Billy, and Dodie.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Dewain, daughters; linda Silverthorn and Robin French, son-in-law, Charles French, grandchildren; Jason and Dylan French, and Dr. Persephanie Silverthorn, great grandchildren; Quinton Sanders, Jackson and Sutton French, one sister, Phyllis Kiper.

A visitation for Lois will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218).

A funeral service will occur Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
