To the Powell family,
I just heard about Linda's passing recently.i worked with her several years ago at Buckhorn. She was a wonderful person to work with . She told me many times about the great relationships she had with family members. So sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. I just found out about Linda  Linda and I had a great time working with young adults at Buckhorn Transitional Living Program. I will miss her.

I have done Linda's hair for quite a few years and upon searching to check on her stumbled across this. I am so saddened to hear of this loss, as it is a great one. I always loved our conversations, and know how much she cared deeply for her friends and family! I will miss seeing her dearly. My thoughts are with her loved ones. Hey Linda.  I finally stopped crying to stop by, and leave a message for you.  I just want you to know I love you more than anything in the world, and that your passing has affected me in ways I couldn't even begin to imagine.  

I promise to you that I'll be the best person possible.  And remember all the good you taught me, and all the great memories we had.  You always had a smile on your face, and could light up any room with your great personality, and unique sense of humor.

The old saying goes.  "You don't know what you have until it's gone"   And boy Linda is it true.  I would give anything in world to hear your sweet voice again, have lunch with you at "Yoki's" lmao, or share laughs as we watch a movie.  The affect you had on me will never weather away.  And you'll always be in my heart, and on my mind.  Until the day I join you up in heaven.

I'll never forget the dinners, and good times I had with you, Michael, Cheryl, and your great nephews.  You, and Michael opened your lives to me like family.  And even though I had my problems,  you never stopped loving me, and trying to help me in life.  The same with all the other misfortunate people you helped in your life.

Linda I can't wait till the day we meet again.  I can't wait to share another laugh with you, or another good dinner.  I can't wait to entertain you with my endless banter.  I will always love you, and you always have a special place in my heart.  You truly were the "best friend" a person could have.  Until the day we meet again, in my heart/mind is where I'll keep you.

I was very saddened by Linda Powell’s passing.   I met Linda when my husband, Larry Hammond, and I joined the Middletown Lions Club.    She and I worked at the Middletown Family Festival, serving food at the Concerts in the Park in Middletown, Churchill Downs Vision screening, and she loved organizing the Lions Club’s participation at “Light Up Middletown” for Christmas.   Linda loved her family, and she loved to share their stories and events.   I always remember her New York accent.  Her eyes lit up when talking about her brother, her nephews, her nephew basketball player and her daughter-in-law’s wedding plans.   Even though her parents passed away a few years ago, she talked about them like they were still present in her life.   She loved the sun, swimming in the pool and walking on a beach.   In fact, she wanted to move to Florida to live in an eternal summer.   She felt the best under the sun like a sunflower.    I used to call her Linda linda because “linda” in my native Spanish language means pretty.    

Your time, Linda linda, among us is gone, but I will always remember your generous heart and smile.   I hope you are floating in sunny paradise.  You deserve peace because you were a very nice person.    Rest in peace, Linda linda.


Linda was my Curb Side Chat Neighbor. I was almost retired when she moved into the neighborhood and we soon found out that we were both transplants from upstate New York; both Social Workers, that I attended Woodstock , she didn’t, that we were both talkers, and what a small world we lived in! We  soon established a trust;  that yes I had tools in my garage and knew how to use them, and that she trusted me to repair items around her house that Mike hadn’t gotten to yet!  I am going to miss you Linda; but I trust that you will put in a good word for me up there cause I am not the guy to ever let you have the last word! 

Linda and I knew each other through friends in high school and later got to know each other at Junior College of Albany.  We became fast close friends and spent many weekend together sharing drinks, laughs and good times.  We frequented all the local Albany, NY pubs known to college students ( Partridge, Bogarts),  went to numerous concerts at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) and, of course,  talked about boys we were crazy about at the time.   I laugh thinking of how people called her Boog Powell as a nickname.  I don't think she liked that much but she laughed it off.   I remember her parents well, their dog and her little blonde haired brother she loved so much. Linda was fun, she had a huge heart and I loved her as a true friend . It's been many years since we saw each other but we did reconnect on facebook and for that I am forever thankful.  There will always be a place in my heart for her. My sincere sympathy to Michael and his family and Linda's step children and good friends.

I met Linda when I transferred to another account within RxCrossroads. She was the only person who offered to come in on a Saturday to help me. 
She was always up for a new adventure. We loved talking about music, and how we wished we had been old enough to actually attend Woodstock!  She was a board member of my Basset Rescue. It was ingrained in her to help the helpless, both two-legged and four.
Now she is gone far too soon, and will be missed far more than she could ever know. 
Thank you for stopping to find me on your journey Linda. It was a privilege to have known you. 

I worked with Linda at RX Crossroads.  She always had a smile on her face and lit up the room.  She will be greatly missed.

So sad to lose Linda. She quickly became a pillar of our poker group, and brightened all our lives with her humor, intellect, and activism. We will miss her always.

I met Linda at Milestone Therapy Pool. I enjoyed talking to her about life in general. She was always talking about her girls and Michaels boys.She was  so proud of all of you. She joined St. Matthews Womans Club and we enjoyed going to the functions and having lunch. I’m going to miss our phone conversations and spending time with her. My condolences to all of her family. She’s one lady I’ll never forget. RIP Linda until we meet again.💔🙏

I, and others, met Linda in the Milestone Fitness therapy pool. She soon became a regular evening pool pal, where we all share, through conversation, our days, our life’s frustrations, and our celebrations, each one bringing their own list of health issues, and supporting others through theirs.  We will miss Linda each evening as we gather at the pool, her bright smile, her stories, and her insistence that local foods, such as pizza, is not an acceptable product. I extend sincere sympathy to all of the Powell family during this difficult time, knowing that Linda will live on in all of our memories. I was blessed to call her my friend.

Michael and Family, I am sincerely sorry about Linda's passing.  She was a kind person that cared deeply for her family and friends.  Cherish the memories of the fun times you had being with Linda. May God's peace be with you. 

We are so sad to lose a great neighbor.  She always had time to chat, love on the dog, or give to a school fund raiser. She will be missed. 

Thoughts and prayers are going out for your family.  Mike, mom and I want to let you know that we are so sorry for your loss.  She was a sweet lady and I know that she will be truly missed.  

I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful lady.  Her positive demeanor, cheerful voice, and huge laugh will be the memories that I carry with me when I remember her.  The loss of such a vibrant soul is sad for those of us who remain, but we rejoice knowing that she is at peace.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and Benjamin Powell.Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Michael Powell (Cheryl); her nephews, Derek Powell, Justin Powell; cousins, Laurie Law, Donald Law Jr, David Law; step daughters, Aimee Witko, Ceili Witko, and Jennifer Oliver (Lou); her best fur daughter, Kloe’ Girlfriend; and an amazing number of loving friends.
