Les Terry Jeffries, 87, of Goshen Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Les, also known as Terry and Peepaw, was a strong man of integrity and a “jack-of-all trades" who dedicated his life to hard work done right. He rarely missed an opportunity to help someone out in the various professions he mastered. Les chose to not retire, and as a matter of fact, up until about three weeks before his passing you could find him in the isles of Home Depot on Westport Road, where he worked for the past 19 years. Les was preceded in death by his parents, Tubal Edgar and Ona Vera Jeffries, and siblings Lex Jeffries, Betsy Bugg, Earl Jeffries, Anita Houchens, Judy (JJ) Sprowles, Jimmy Jeffries and former wife, Laurie Jeffries. He is survived by siblings Marion Aubrey Jeffries, Jerry Jeffries, Patricia Turner, Phyllis France, Sharon Burden and Pamela Keller. Also survived by his children Terry Jeffries, Kimberly Finnell (Scott), and Kevin Phelps. His grandchildren Amanda, Caitlyn, Lelehna, Emily, Aimee, Alissa, Callie and Phoenix and great grandchildren Nicholas, Caleb, Cameron, Landon, Kelsey, Kaci, Isabella, Waylon, Khloe, Makiah, and Ira. Les also loved, and claimed as his son, Brandon Blythe and his daughter, Ashley Fox (Bryan) and their children as his grandchildren as well, MyKenna, Aiden and Karsen. Les was a U.S. Army Veteran and he served our country proudly. He was also a certified Past Master Mason with the Boaz Masonic Home Lodge 850. Les was a Master Carpenter who could take simple wood and craft something magnificent and built most of the fence lines along US Hwy 42 from Paramount Farms to Goshen Kentucky. Some of Les’s favorite pastimes were fishing, playing his harmonica, singing, dancing and telling jokes (some of them better than others, if you know you know). Les is loved dearly and will be greatly missed by so many who had the privilege of knowing him. There aren’t enough words to describe the impact and legacy he leaves behind. We find comfort in knowing he is now healed, whole and alive in Heaven. Go rest high on that mountain, until we meet again.
Visitation will be held from 1-7pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd, followed by a funeral service at 7:00. Cremation will follow services.
