Lawrence “Bud” Hamilton, departed this life on October 12, 2022. He was born in Casey County, KY on November 10, 1934, to the late Lawrence “Buster” Hamilton and Mertie (Morgan) Hamilton. Bud was an avid golfer, was a member of Glen Oaks Country Club, enjoyed success working at Frito Lay, loved to tell stories, never knew a stranger and loved life. We will never forget his cackle when he was beating you at a game or knew that he one-upped you.
Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann (Smith) Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two brother-in-laws, Bobby Hamilton, Gerald Hamilton, Henson Luttrell and Louis Roy, and a sister, Shirley Roy.
He is survived by six children, Cheryl L. Hamilton of Louisville, Michael G. Hamilton (Debbie) of Georgetown, IN., Dennis W. Hamilton (Elisa) of Franklin, IN., Phillip L. Hamilton (Barbara) of Villa Hills, KY., Mitchell T. Hamilton (Amy) of Clarks Summit, PA., and Craig A. Hamilton (Kayce) of Independence, KY. He is survived by five sisters: Cissy Luttrell, Louise Carman (Ray), Sue Ashley (Billy), Judy Wells (Curtiss) and Connie Floyd and one brother: Donnie Hamilton (Donna) and a sister-in-law, Jane Hamilton. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, Anthony, Jordan, Nicholas, Dennis Jr, Brian, Alexander, Emily, Ashley, and Benjamin; and seven great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jaylon, Jazzmin, Cade, Kenna, Luck, and Briar; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
His funeral will be on Monday, October 24th, at 10am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4pm until 8pm.
